Duality in grey in 2014/15 fall/winter trends
Most frequently used fall/winter 2014/15 color trends include shades of grey. “Go grey” might be a new mantra in this season. It relates to simplicity and strength, instead of being boring. Movement, shadow play, reflection, mellowness, duality can be expressed with grey. It is really breathtaking to see how designers interpreted the stylish shades of gray. How? First, materials in Fall/Winter 2014/2015 trend capture light and reflection which adds depth and further meaning to pure black and pure white. Secondly, surprising coatings alter the look and properties of the fabrics, reflecting a dynamic show of shadows. Such a stylish coating might reflect aluminium, a futuristic stainless steel.
Ethereal Eternal – Black and white in f/w 2015
You cannot go wrong with black and white combinations in this season, either. They hold dominance in an updated context of proportion and dimension expressed with new patterns and fabrics. In monochrome (Alexander McQueen) or creative abstracted patterns (Roland Mouret). Black and white is the easiest way to combine patterns and textures within an outfit, resulting in an ultimately stylish look.
Navy blue and cobalt in 2014/15 fall/winter trends
Bright cobalt and royal blue are also on the 2014/15 AW color palette apart from navy blue. They go well on sporty chic (Miu Miu), abstract patterns (Paul&Joe) and long gowns (Valentino). Blues offer lots of options for mixing and matching. They generally express trust, reliability, respect, confidence and honesty in a quiet and reserved way. It is easy to refine such a general meaning by combining them with gold, white, red, beige, nude colors or pastels. This color trend was not out of the blue; different shades and tones are in for a while.
Charm brown in f/w 2015
Cognac brown and creamy beige in draped and deconstructed patterns are overly adorable at the moment. Combine them with navy blue, royal blue, orange or black and white. Monochrome ensembles were all over the 2014/15 AW runways.
Royal and Loyal Gold in winter 2015
A further eternal shade is the extravagant gold. In this season it comes in shimmery and shining textures. Goes perfectly with black, sangria, blue and many shades of grey. Seek to add brighter colors (white or beige) to have a balanced overall look in terms of palette. As gold was highly in season in 2013/2014, you could use gold pieces from the last year.
Passion in aurora red and sangria in fw2015
How do you add a glamorous and sparkling feeling to an autumn/winter outfit? With aurora red and sangria in ultra-feminine and stylish garments. In order to have a sassy outfit, mix it with black or a bit of gold. Going in monochrome is also in style and immensely chic.
Yellow and energetic orange in winter 2015
Rainbow on a white base expresses vitality, glow, simplicity and optimism. Misted yellow helps in counterbalancing the darker tones of the season. It is used by many designers as an interpretation of glam (Givenchy), luxury (Chanel) or youth (Valentino). Besides, another feminine color of the season is orange, an energizing and imaginative shade. With grey or patterns combined with blue, grey and white, you cannot go wrong.
Uber-feminine Radiant Orchid in fw2015
Mauve mist and radiant orchid are the most expressive shades of the season, having some feel of mystery, elegance, grace and charm. Mixed with grey, white or nude colors, pure femininity and inherent confidence is expressed. Be careful with such colors; if your eyes are not shining and your skin is not glowing when you wear them, they are not on your color palette.
Fresh Cypress Green in 2014/15 fall/winter trends
A further sassy tone of the season, a refreshing color keeping us energized and cute. Monochrome outfits with a tiny bit of orange or blue accessories are chic and cool in this season. A trendy combination is with light blue and beige.
